Ames police seek armed robbery suspect

AMES – On Tuesday June 3, 2014 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Ames Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Swift Stop located at 3406 Lincoln Way.

According to the store employee, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect was described by the victim as a black male adult, approximately 5’-6” to 5’-7”, 150-160 lbs., wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black bandana around his face. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money southbound on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
