Iowa State sets another football season ticket record

logo_iowa_state_cyclonesAMES, Iowa – Iowa State has set a school record for season football ticket sales, again.

The Cyclones have sold 40,600 tickets, which tops last fall’s record of 40,547.

Take a bow, Cyclone Nation.

It seems as though Iowa State football season ticket sales trend upwards in three-year cycles.

When Jamie Pollard was named Athletics Director prior to the 2005 campaign, it was the first of three consecutive years of growth in the ISU football season ticket base.

In Coach Paul Rhoads’ third season (2011), the season ticket total jumped more than 6,000 fans. The Cyclones followed that by surpassing 40,000 for the first time ever. Now, a new milestone has been reached in ‘13.

That makes three consecutive years of growth, again!

Rhoads has led the Cyclones to multiple upset wins in his tenure and the fan base appears to be intent on ensuring their presence at the next one, too. That is reflected in the annual season ticket growth.

Iowa State’s football season ticket base has increased more than 20% during Rhoads’ era. The base has increased 81% since Pollard came to Ames.

There are a few season tickets left (primarily hillsides) for this fall, so you’d better act quickly.

For the rest of you, who have secured tickets already, we’ll see you in Jack Trice Stadium at the end of the month.
