FOREST CITY – Stand up comedian and writer Preacher Moss will present his “End of Racism” comedy and lecture show at Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa on Monday, January 20. The comedian comes to Waldorf on the 31st national recognition of MLK Day.

“Preacher Moss will be speaking on diversity,” said Waldorf College Director of Student Activities Anjaih Clemons. “He’ll be focusing on the concept that we are all different and that it’s okay to be different. We can embrace our differences and come together as one.”

Moss, a former writer for “Saturday Night Live” and “The Damon Wayans Show,” has been featured on Comedy Central and BET’s “Comic View.” He will speak on how people see race through laughter, respect and the humility of a man who has felt the sting of racism.

“Understanding diversity and multiculturalism requires that we eliminate or reduce the anxiety of our ignorance,” Moss said.

Moss’ visit to Forest City is part of the college’s annual tradition of hosting a speaker on MLK Day. This is the second time Moss will be featured.

“The students really liked him several years ago, so we thought it’d be great to have him back,” Clemons said. “His presentation is a kind of ‘edutainment.’ He combines information we need to know about racism and diversity in an engaging and funny package.”

“End of Racism” will be presented at 10 a.m. in the Waldorf College Atrium on Monday, January 20. The community is welcome to attend this event free of charge.
