The Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) is a unique opportunity allowing U.S. citizen college students to engage in citizen diplomacy through virtual internships (eInternships) with U.S. Government federal agencies. VSFS enables students to work remotely to support the work of the USA around the world. Applications will be accepted July 2-20, 2013 for 276 extraordinarily interesting projects with the State Department and many other agencies, available through this USA Jobs vacancy announcement.
The VSFS program has seen enormous growth since it was first announced in May 2009. This year, for the first time, students will choose from projects with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Commercial Service (FCS), and Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) in addition to the Smithsonian Institution, Department of the Interior, and the Department of Education.
U.S. citizen college students interested in applying for a VSFS eInternship position for Fall 2013 through Spring 2014 may apply on USA Jobs starting July 2 and ending on July 20. Students can view the projects and learn more about the program at: www.state.gov/vsfs and http://www.facebook.com/usdos.
