MASON CITY – Driving by Casey’s this morning on 19th Street SW, all was dark. There were people out in the parking lot, but no lights on and the no gas prices on the sign.

“We’re closed,” said a Casey’s employee. The employees were telling the potential customers and early morning coffee drinkers that they are closed for remodeling.

“We’ll be back open on Friday,” predicted another employee.

Casey’s, in the last couple months, has put an addition on to the east side of their store. At that time, it was rumored that they were going to have a sub-sandwich counter opened.

The construction workers are hard at work. We’ll see Friday if the submarine sandwich counter is ready.
