Certified Nurse Aide Training Offered Locally- Starts March 19

The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) course will be taught in Belmond beginning March 19.  The course is offered through a partnership between NIACC, B-KHS and the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.  The ambulance garage classroom is provided by Belmond Medical Center.  Certified instructors from ABCM Corporation will teach the course.

On Thursday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m., an information session will be held at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond in the Activity Room.   High school students and their parents, as well as community members interested in taking this class, are strongly encouraged to attend.

The certified nurse aide course prepares individuals to work in long term care facilities and hospitals.  Interested adults are encouraged to enroll, as there is still space available.

This college-credit course is also open to Belmond-Klemme High School students.  Since the course is part of the B-K Health Careers program, there is no cost to high school students except for the certification test fees.

The CNA class begins March 19 at 3:30 p.m., at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.  Several class sessions will be taught in the Belmond Medical Center ambulance building.  The course ends on May 10.

Adults desiring course details and registration materials should call NIACC Student Services, #1-888-466-4222 extension 4208.

High school students with questions may contact Jean Ostrander, NIACC Director of School Partnerships, #1-888-466-4222 extension 4177 or email: ostrajea@niacc.edu.
