Linda Dunbar, age 72 of Graettinger, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Martin Mattice Funeral Home of Emmetsburg is assisting the family.
Linda Jean Dunbar, the daughter of Heinz Gustav and Pauline Blanch (Conaway) Pallwitz, was born on February 8, 1954 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Linda graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Steve Dunbar on May 4, 1996. Linda worked as a caretaker for many people. She enjoyed crocheting and needle pointing. She was a jack of all trades and master of none.
Left to cherish Linda’s memory are her children, Dan Dunbar of Graettinger and Angela Hunter of Graettinger; grandson, Jeremy Griffith; great granddaughter, Alexis Griffith Brannum; and son-in-law, John Anders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Dunbar, and parents, Heinz Gustav and Pauline Blanch (Conaway) Pallwitz.
