MASON CITY – A rural Mason City man, caught innumerable times for driving while barred, today upped the stakes by getting behind the wheel while allegedly drunk.
Monte Dean Neubauer was stopped by police Monday morning at approx 1:47 AM for a moving violation by Mason City police. According to police, the officer learned the driver, Neubauer, had a barred drivers license and arrested Neubauer for driving while barred. Further investigation was conducted as to Neubauer’s sobriety. Neubauer was then charged with operating while intoxicated and failure to prove insurance.
Neubauer was was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and held on $2,000 cash/surety bond.
Neubauer was last caught for driving while barred on December 17th, 2013. He plead not guilty and awaits a March 11, 2014 jury trial.
