Industrial open house at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC)

niacc-snow-3MASON CITY – NIACC is inviting the public to the Mason City campus for an open house for its Industrial Technology program.

Students of all ages are invited to come to campus February 12th to see first-hand what NIACC students are learning in seven majors offered in the “exciting, high –tech field” of Industrial Technology. This experience can help students prepare themselves to make the best career decisions possible. It can also help them connect with business leaders in the area. Students will learn about education and careers in:

· Automotive

· Building Trades

· Heating and Air Conditioning

· Diesel Technology

· Industrial Systems Technology/Wind Turbine Technician

· Tool and Die

· Welding

“This is a great opportunity for the public to learn about the many careers available in the NIACC’s Industrial programs,” said Industrial Division Chair Josh Byrnes. “NIACC industrial technology graduates have a 98 percent placement rate. That’s amazing. Completion in these programs leads to good job opportunities in Iowa and throughout the country.”

The Industrial Open House is open to students of all ages.

Sessions for high school students will be offered during the day so they can experience the labs and see what the programs are all about. Registration for high school students is required. Teachers and students should register online at http://www.niacc.edu/admissions/industrial-open-house/ where they can sign up for various sessions.

This event is also open to adults who are interested in these programs. Appointments can be made to visit these programs between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Adults should call the NIACC

Admissions Office at 1-888 GO NIACC, extension 4245 or 641-422-4245. In addition to learning about our programs, visitors will have the opportunity to talk with instructors, see the equipment, view equipment demonstrations and visit with companies who hire our students.
