Brian J. Buhr, 61, of Westgate, Iowa, died Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union, following a hard fought battle with cancer.

Celebration of Life: 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., March 21, 2026, at the Maynard Community Center in Maynard, Iowa.
Private Family Graveside Service: at Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard with Pastor Julie Ahrens officiating.

Brian James Buhr was born April 9, 1964, in Sumner, Iowa, the son of Ronald Lee and Dianne Marie (Arthur) Buhr. He attended high school at West Central in Maynard and later attended NICC for Auto Body Repair. On October 25, 1999, he was united in marriage to Stacey Ann Meiresonne at Sumner. This union was blessed with two children, Blake and Lindsey. They later separated. Over the years, Brian was employed at Tyson Foods and Pries Enterprises, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, sports, especially Iowa Hawkeye Sports, attending his children and grandchildren’s activities and spending time with friends and family. Brian will be remembered for his personality and being the life of every party.

Brian is survived by his son: Blake Buhr of Waterloo; daughter: Lindsey Buhr (Jordan Taylor) of Maynard; 3 grandchildren: Thea, Harper and Cohen Taylor; parents: Ron and Dianne Buhr of Westgate; 2 sisters: Cheri (Bob) Crawford of Maynard and Paula (Corey) Moritz of Dublin, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; uncle: Tom (Beth) Buhr; and 2 aunts: Mona Arthur and Carolee Risse.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert and Evelyn Arthur and Walter and Clara Buhr; brother: Bob Buhr; uncles: William Arthur, James Arthur, Dennis Arthur, and Elmer Matthias; and aunts: Delores Matthias and Faith Arthur.
