DES MOINES – Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is celebrating today as she reports that Iowa’s gross domestic product (GDP) is soaring to new levels, a possible indication that the state’s lagging economy is rebounding.
“Iowa’s economy continues to rise because we’ve created a culture of growth, opportunity, investment, and innovation.”
Based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) released in September 2025, Iowa’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 3.7% in the second quarter of 2025, so the third quarter saw a significant uptick. This followed a 6.1% contraction in Q1 2025.
Iowa saw high earnings growth in Q3 2025, with earnings increasing by 7.3%, among the highest in the nation.

She’s a convicted drunk driver – twice – how awesome can she be? Also I reported on what she claims about the state economy – not as absolute fact. You can’t tell the difference though, and that is bad for your hair-trigger temper.
I will ask you again in case you misunderstood the first time – “Is she the same governor that you spent years bashing as out of touch and clueless?” I ask not because I am concerned about her statements (she lies almost as much as you and trump) but more about why you no longer bash her every chance you get.
She’s a lame duck governor and the Legislature hasn’t passed any bills for her consideration in months. You just waking up?
