WEST UNION, IOWA – This Ohio woman ended up in a Northern Iowa “establishment” and apparently engaged in a knife attack, and for her brutal deeds, was sentenced to 50 days in jail and a decent bill owed to Iowa courts.
On November 2, 2025, at approximately 12:46 AM, West Union Police Department was dispatched to the local establishment (police failed to name the location) regarding an altercation involving a knife resulting in a stabbing. The West Union Police Department conducted an initial investigation and took initial reports of what happened, an attempt to locate was activated for an out-of-state visitor who was potentially accompanied by a West Union local.
Police reported that the attempt to locate was successful, which led to the arrest of Christy Wark of Canal Whinchester, Ohio and Douglas Ramer Jr., of West Union, Iowa.
Wark has been charged with:
- Willful Injury with Serious Injury with a $10,000 bond.
Ramer, Jr. has been charged with:
“Interference of Official Acts” and has been released on an unsecured bond.
Both Wark and Ramer Jr. were taken to the Fayette County Detention Center. The West Union Police Department was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Police also revealed, “all victims will remain nameless at this time, and medical aid was rendered for injuries at the Gundersen Hospital,” suggesting that more than one person was possibly, allegedly knifed in the attack.
Court records show that Wark later pleaded guilty to aggravated misdemeanor assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and was then sentenced to 365 days in jail with 316 days suspended. She was also placed on probation for 2 years and ordered to pay Iowa courts $1,774.11.
Ramer is still awaiting a trial later in January in his case.
