Born Catherine Ann Jindrich on March 6, 1924, in Swaledale, Iowa, Ann was the beloved daughter of John and Mary (Dunn) Jindrich. Raised in a close-knit rural community, she graduated from Swaledale High School in 1941 and later attended Hamilton’s School of Business. Early in her working life, Ann partnered with her father, serving for five years as a parts salesman and bookkeeper, roles she carried out with diligence and quiet competence.
On June 7, 1947, Ann married the love of her life, Carl Larsen, in Swaledale. Their marriage was one of steadfast devotion, lasting decades and producing a family as vibrant as it was large. Together, they raised ten children, and Ann embraced her vocation as homemaker with grace and tireless energy. She was the steady center of the Larsen household, where love was abundant, faith was lived daily, and everyone was welcome.
Ann remained deeply engaged in her community throughout her life. She was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society (A.C.C.W.) at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, a participant in the Clear Lake Senior Citizens Group, and a member of CGSI. Her hands were rarely still, she found joy and purpose in knitting and quilting, crafting warmth and beauty for those she loved.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Larsen; Julie (Merle) Tiedemann; Chris (Kristi) Larsen; Matt (Sue) Larsen; Mary Huey; and Jeannette Jones; her sister, Pat Donnellan; many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren, each a living testament to the life she so lovingly built.
Ann was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her husband, Carl; her parents, John and Mary; her in-laws, Chris and Martha (Saling) Larsen; her sons, Paul, Jim, and John; her daughter, Katie; her granddaughter, Cally Huey; her brothers, Jack and Bob Jindrich, and two infant brothers; her sisters, Marey “Maggie” Jindrich, Betty Underberg, Martha Davis, and one infant sister; as well as her brother-in-law, Cecil Teeter and Barney Kogan, and sisters-in-law, Emma Teeter, Jean Davis, Marie Kogan and Betty Jindrich.
