October 7, 1986 – December 4, 2025
Dusty Lee Borcherding, 39, currently from Versailles, Missouri and formerly of Hampton, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory in Hampton.
Dusty was born on October 7, 1986 in Hampton, Iowa. He was the son of Dan Borcherding of Coulter and Kandi (Pratt) Borcherding of Hampton.
Dusty graduated from Hampton-Dumont High School in the Class of 2005 and followed his career journey, leading him to his most recent job of landscaping, where he had numerous friends and memories.
Dusty’s most precious times were spent with his family. He and his wife, Vicki enjoyed spending time together taking care of the kids and being a family. The love and care Dusty gave his children will forever be cherished. His greatest pride was being a father. He was fully present in his children’s lives nurturing, teaching and supporting them in every way he could. His kindness showed in the way he listened, the way he helped without being asked and the strength he carried throughout his life. He touched countless lives simply by being exactly who he was.
Dusty had a lifetime love of automobiles and could often be found tinkering under the hood of a car or truck – if it ran on gasoline, he enjoyed every minute of it. Some of his favorite moments were spent watching the Kansas City Chiefs with the people he loved most, and he and Vicki shared countless evenings together watching their favorite shows including 911, Law & Order, Criminal Minds and many other crime dramas.
He was soft-spoken and gentle, with a heart of gold that showed in every act of kindness.
Left to cherish Dusty’s memory are his wife, Vicki Yaw; his daughters, Kirsten Borcherding, Emma Borcherding, Elizabeth Borcherding and son, Daniel Borcherding of Versailles, Missouri; mother, Kandi “Pratt” Borcherding (Jeff Voy) and father, Dan Borcherding; sister, Kylie Voy (Jack Nauman) of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandparents, Sheldon and Virginia Pratt of Hampton; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ty Borcherding; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Bernice Borcherding and great-grandparents.
