WEBSTER CITY – A man was found dead in a Webster City house, and after an investigation, the death was ruled by natural causes.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM, officers with the Webster City Police Department were dispatched to a residence located at 1403 Des Moines Street in Webster City. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male inside the residence. The cause of death remains under investigation and was pending an autopsy at the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the male was initially withheld pending proper notification of family members.

Then, police provided an update. The individual located deceased Monday morning at 1403 Des Moines Street in Webster City was identified as Osmar Matul Alvarado, age 35 of Webster City.

Preliminary findings indicate that the cause of death was due to medical issues. There were no circumstances identified during the investigation that would lead investigators to believe anything criminal or suspicious occurred.
