RURAL MASON CITY – A Northern Iowa woman struck a deer outside Mason City and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place on the evening of Monday, March 24, 2025. At about 8:56 PM, 39-year-old Lacey Lyn Kinneman of Riceville, Iowa, was driving westbound on County Road B20 in Cerro Gordo County, northwest of Mason City. Kinneman struck a deer, causing extensive damage to her vehicle. Kinneman was transported to Mercy One North Iowa by Mason City Fire Medics for non-life-threatening injuries.
Cerro Gordo county deputies were assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol.
