Quad Cities woman lied about child abduction, now faces stiff consequences

Folks frantically searched for 4-year-old Blessing after a car was reported stolen - with her inside. However, the mother, Princess Ilunga, had intentionally hidden Blessing inside the residence for the duration of the search. An arrest warrant was issued for Princess for felony Filing a False Police Report, as the suspect fled north with her 7 children - but cops caught her.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS – This mother of seven reported her 4-year-old child taken in her stolen car, sending folks in Illinois and Iowa into a frenzy, but it turned out she allegedly lied about the entire situation, and now she is caught after fleeing justice.

NIT previously reported that on Thursday, January 16, at 6:07 AM, 37-year old Princess Ilunga reported to the Rock Island Police Department that her car had been stolen while it was left running in front of her residence and that her 4-year old child, Blessing Aoci was inside the vehicle.

An extensive nine-hour search was conducted by folks in Illinois and Iowa until Blessing was found outside her residence at 2:53 PM.  Police made several arrests in connection with this case as it unfolded.  An investigation was conducted as to 4-year-old Blessing’s whereabouts and it was determined that  Princess Ilunga had intentionally hidden Blessing inside the residence for the duration of the search.

An arrest warrant was issued for Princess Ilunga for Filing a False Police Report, a Class 4 Felony, on January 30, 2025.

On Thursday, January 30, 2025 at approximately 5:02 PM, 37-year-old Princess Ilunga was arrested in Jefferson County, Wisconsin after a traffic stop by the Wisconsin State Patrol. Wisconsin State Patrol conducted the stop for a suspended registration and an equipment violation. Princess Ilunga was identified as the driver and taken into custody on the basis of the outstanding warrant. Ms. Ilunga’s seven children were located in the vehicle at the time of the stop and later taken to the Lake Mills Police Department to be cared for until arrangements could be made with their father, Richard Aoci. He responded to the Lake Mills Police Department and took custody of the children at approximately 9:53 p.m. Ms. Ilunga is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail pending extradition to Illinois.
