Stephen M. Hanan, age 49, of Cresco, IA, died on Friday, January 24, 2025 at his home. Steve’s wishes are to have his cremated remains be interred at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Preston.

Stephen M. Hanan, age 49, of Cresco, IA, died on Friday, January 24, 2025 at his home.

Stephen Michael “Steve” Hanan was born on February 10, 1975 in California to Patricia Ann Jarosh. Upon graduating high school, Steve enlisted with the United States Navy on February 26, 1996. His primary job with the Navy was as an Air Traffic Controller. He was honorably discharged on March 3, 1998. Steve was proud to have been born in the United States and serve his country.

On January 8, 2018, Steve married Marion Harrison. Steve enjoyed being at home with his wife, Marion, and their two dogs, Rhea and Tinkerbell. He was a very intelligent person who knew all the questions during Jeopardy. Steve also liked to stay informed on current events, watching movies, playing Call of Duty on Xbox, and taking naps.

He is survived by his wife Marion Harrison, son Ronald (Ludmia Blomstrom) Harrison and Ludmia’s children Eldon and Sergey Evanson, his daughter Krysta Waite and her children Celeste and Arlo, and brother Michael Hanan. Steve is also survived by his fur babies Rhea and Tinkerbell.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Hanan.

Steve’s wishes are to have his cremated remains be interred at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Preston.
