CHARLES CITY – A woman from Denver, Colorado was tooling around Charles City after bar close time only to find out that she would face justice a second time for alleged drunk driving.
Charles City police encountered a driver at 1:56 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the 500 block of North Main Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop because, allegedly, the automobile was traveling between 11-15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. After an investigation, 30-year-old Alexa Jo Reysack of Denver, Colorado was cited for speeding and arrested for aggravated misdemeanor second-offense operating while intoxicated.
According to the Iowa breath alcohol test site, Charles City police officer Cody Blunt (on the job since February of 2022) administered a breath alcohol test on a female subject, possibly Reysack, at 2:59 AM on December 28, 2024. The test showed a 0.216 BAC – nearly triple the legal limit of 0.08.

Reysack (pictured at top) was jailed and soon bonded out. She now faces a hearing on January 6, 2025.
Reysack is no stranger to drunk driving. She was nabbed by Hampton, Iowa, police on January 28, 2017. She was sentenced to two days in jail and ordered to pay Iowa courts $1,797.50.
