On October 23, 2024, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office transported 47-year-old Brian Michael Freeman (pictured at top) of Garner, Iowa, to the Iowa Medical Classification Center where he was ordered to be placed. Freeman was the driver of a motor vehicle that killed 26-year-old Landon Richard Schiek in an accident near Cylinder, Iowa on June 12th 2022.

Immediately following the trial, Freeman was placed in the Palo Alto County Jail to await sentencing from the court.
