Troy Henry Peterson, the son of Norman and Gertrude “Trudy” (Goldener) Peterson, was born on October 9, 1968, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Humboldt Schools, graduating with the class of 1988. After graduation, Troy furthered his education at Iowa Lakes Community College for Auto Body Restoration. On April 8, 1995, Troy was united in marriage to Mary Coen at Lake Elmo, Minnesota. Troy was an avid farmer and loved to raise goats. In his spare time, he also had his own construction business.

Troy was known for his “tinkering.” He was always working on things and making them work better. He loved to ride his motorcycle with Mary and go fishing with his buddy, Norm. Most of all, Troy loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish Troy’s memory are his wife: Mary of Humboldt; children: Jake (Kim) Peterson of Gilmore City, Sarah (Shawn) Gavin of Saylorville, Brittni (Indio) Balderrama of Niceville, FL; grandchildren: Harper and Barrett Peterson, Madison and Jackson Gavin and Taevon and Brinley Lloyd; siblings: Roy (Kim) Peterson of Hermon, MO, Sonya Colvin of Ames, Heidy (Daryl) Vosberg of Lake Elmo, MN and Lory (Roy) Bowerman of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law Mary Ann Johnson of Humboldt; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Trudy Peterson; Great Aunt and Uncle: Bessie and Melvin Heiter and brother-in-law: Tom Colvin.
