Jim Prindle, 80, of Mason City, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held from 11 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Memorials may be directed to the family of Jim Prindle.

Jim was born on May 18, 1944, in Mason City, to Herald and Fern (Neumann) Prindle. He graduated from Mason City High School. After high school he began working for Oliver Tractor Manufacturing in Charles City. He then went on to work for Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a conductor and retired after 30 years.

Jim was united in marriage to Kathleen Moore on February 21, 1963. The couple was blessed with 4 children. The couple shared 54 years of marriage before Kathleen’s passing in 2017. On October 16,2020 he was united in marriage to Susanne Morris.

Jim had a love of hunting, working in his garden, woodworking and trains. He also loved learning about history, the civil war and the Indians.

Jim is survived by his wife Susanne; his children Joanna (Kurt) Livingston, Robert Prindle, Lisa (Michael) Waage, Jennifer (Paul) Thompson; step-children Jodi (Terry Hall) Eckhardt, Michael (Deb) Morris; 11 grand kids, 17 great-grand kids; sisters-in-law Marlene Moore and Carlene Davis

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; his parents; brothers-in-law Miles Moore, William Ashpole, and Dean Davis; sister-in-law Maxine Ashpole.
