Ingrid E. Witherspoon, 84, of Mason City passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at IOOF Home and Community Therapy Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 3:30, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 440 N. Illinois Ave, Mason City.
Ingrid was born on March 26, 1940, in New Rochelle, NY where she lived with her parents, Leo & Olivia Johnson. She attended Secretarial Trade School, becoming an Administrative Assistant with the Evangelical Covenant Church of America. On June 10, 1961, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Witherspoon. They enjoyed a beautiful marriage of 63 years as they walked a life of deep faith in Jesus and raised two daughters.
Ingrid was an accomplished pianist and organist and created beautiful quilts, stained glass, enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, as well as learning and trying new crafts. Her favorite times were spent with her family and loving husband.
Ingrid is survived by her husband, Bill Witherspoon; daughters, Marilyn Witherspoon, Dawn (Tim) Thompson; grandchildren, Mike (Caroline) Thompson, Jenny (David) Wagner, Amanda Thompson, Emily (Alvin) Perez; great grandson, Harper Thompson; sister, Joann (Greg)
Anderson; brother, Harvey Olson; brother-in-law, Tom Imberger; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by parents, Leo & Olivia Johnson; sisters-in-law, Judy Imberger and Mary Olson.
