Buick totalled, thousands in damage to Ford in Charles City auto accident

CHARLES CITY – A costly auto accident in Charles City resulted in one wrecked vehicle, serious damage to another, and a ticket for one driver.

Charles City police report that their officers responded to an auto accident on the morning of April 21, 2024. At 9:51 AM, they responded to the intersection of North Iowa Street and Hulin Street for a two-vehicle collision. According to police, a 2013 Buick Verano operated by 47-year-old Cody Dravenstott of Charles City was traveling northbound on North Iowa Street when it struck a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by 32-year-old Alyssa Nauman of Charles City, traveling westbound on Hulin Street.

As a result of the collision, Dravenstott was charged with failure to yield to the vehicle on the right. His Buick sustained approximately $5,000 damage. Nauman’s Ford was considered totaled.

There were no injuries.
