Estherville trailer fire evacuates woman and children

ESTHERVILLE – A woman and her two children escaped a fire in their trailer early Monday morning in Estherville.

The Estherville Fire Department was paged and responded to residential trailer fire at 2302 3rd Ave S lot 97 at 6:59 AM Monday morning. The occupants of the residence where able to get out of the structure without injury and place a 911 call to Emmet County Dispatch Center.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they hit the fire with a defense fire attack through a window with a good knock down. Firefighters then made entry into the structure to finish the fire knock down. Firefighters had the fire under control within 25 minutes of arrival.

The Red Cross was notified to help with the displacement and personal needs of the owner of the property and her two children.

Estherville Fire Department was assisted by Wallingford Fire, Estherville Ambulance, Estherville Police Department, Emmet County Sheriff’s Department and Emmet County Dispatch Center.
