WAUCOMA, IA – An apparent drug drug-selling operation was shut down by police Monday in a tiny northeast Iowa town.
On February 24th, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office executed a search at 104 2nd Street SW in Waucoma, Iowa, about 15 miles east of New Hampton. After a month-long drug investigation, deputies raided the residence of Dwight McDougald, age 42. Deputies seized Marijuana, Methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Dwight McDougald was charged with distribution of methamphetamine (C Felony), possession of marijuana III (D Felony), gatherings where drugs are used (D Felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia. McDougald also has an outstanding warrant in the state of South Carolina for probation violation.
Also arrested at the residence during the search was Natasha Linn Coonradt, age 24 of Windom, Minnesota and charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor. Eli Edward Shaw, age 30 of Monona, Iowa was arrested for possession of controlled substance II (serious misdemeanor), possession of methamphetamine (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All three were transported to the Fayette County Jail and are waiting an initial appearance in court. Fayette County was assisted by the Calmar Police Department , Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Human Services.
