Lori Jean Droste, 53, of Charles City, IA, passed away unexpectedly, June 16, 2023 at her home in Charles City. She graduated from Charles City High School and later earned her associates degree with NIACC.

Lori Jean Droste, 53, of Charles City, IA, passed away unexpectedly, June 16, 2023 at her home in Charles City.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00PM, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at The Bridge Church, 913 S Main St, Charles City, IA 50616. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Chickasaw Cedar View Cemetery.

Lori was born May 21, 1970, in Charles City, daughter of Lawrence Gene Temple Martha Ellen (Brooks) Droste. She graduated from Charles City High School and later earned her associates degree with NIACC. Lori worked in retail throughout her life as well as office positions. First and foremost, Lori loved to be with her family, grandchildren and friends. Lori loved to be outdoors, camping, working in her yard, and riding horses. She loved her animals especially Jazzy, Zoey, Rayna and all the kittens she would raise for the farm. She was very creative and talented repurposing old furniture and making gifts for loved ones. Some of her favorite hobbies included listening to music, watching her boys race figure 8 races, cooking and entertaining family and friends. Lori had the heart of gold and would be there for anyone at any moment cheering them up with her contagious smile and “the Lori laugh.”

Lori is survived by her sons, Devon Ackerson and Caleb (Cheyenne) Ackerson; grandchildren, Chloe, Ari, Braxton, Camri, Corah, and Cohen; siblings Charlene (Glenn) Molitor, Charles Droste, William Droste, Jack (Nancy) Droste, Tammie Wessels, Troy Temple; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Michelle (Jeromy) Winter and their children, Michelle (Scott) Fischer and their children, Dea Neve and their children, and Sharon Burgardt; Significant other Roby Winterink; his children Devon (Kayla) Winterink, and his Grandchildren Mason and Rylee, Amanda Winterink, Katelyn (John) Winterink.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Martha; father, Lawrence; sister Mary; brother Tim; and beloved dog Jazzy.
