Dwight Guerdet, the son of Leo and Florence (Flier) Guerdet was born December 7, 1946 in Estherville, Iowa. He farmed in the Armstrong area for many years.

Dwight Guerdet, the son of Leo and Florence (Flier) Guerdet was born December 7, 1946 in Estherville, Iowa. He died on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Mayo Health System in Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of 76 years.

He received his education and graduated from Sentral of Fenton High School in 1966. Dwight served in the Iowa Army National Guard. On April 12, 1969, he was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jayne Dreyer in Armstrong. The couple farmed in the Armstrong area for many years.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Armstrong, where he was an active volunteer for many fundraisers. Dwight enjoyed drinking coffee, eating breakfast, playing pool, cards, and golf with his buddies. He also enjoyed going to the casino to play Blackjack. He was known by his friends and family as a prankster. Most important to Dwight was spending time with his family and attending their many activities.

Dwight is survived by his wife Jayne of Armstrong, his children Dr. Dean (Sam Boeke) Guerdet of Decorah, Iowa, Denise (Rick) Magill of Omaha, Nebraska, and DeAnne (Dwayne) Wickman of Emmetsburg, Iowa, and four grandchildren Spencer, Sydni, Cassandra, and Nathan. He is also survived by his sister Waunita (Ken) Hoss of Lemars, Iowa, brother-in-law Dave (Judy) Dreyer of Oelwin, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Douglas and Dennis Guerdet, and two infant sisters. He is also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law Frank and Gladys Dreyer; sisters-in-law Joanne Walker, Virgina Guerdet, and Elaine Herker; and brother-in-law Allen Walker.
