MASON CITY – A Mason City man has been sent to prison for sexual abuse of a child.
Charles Adolph Mimms, age 36 of Mason City, and his public defender entered an Alford plea to a charge of
lascivious acts with a child – fondle or touch. The plea came after his arrest in June after a charge of felony second-degree sexual abuse was brought by Mason City police for a crime he allegedly committed on June 10, 2022. Mimms admits he may be found guilty in trial and instead accepts sentencing.
On Tuesday, October 25, Mimms was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
