Northern Iowa nonagenarian woman driver collides with train

WINNEBAGO COUNTY – A Northern Iowa nonagenarian woman driver collided with a train, landing her in a Mayo clinic with injuries.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Thursday, December 16. At 2 PM that afternoon, a 2008 Ford Edge driven by 91-year-old Mavis Bergo of Lake Mills was driving north on South Washington Street and failed to stop for a stop sign at South 6th Avenue. As a result, Mavis’ Edge collided with a train.

Mavis was injured and transported to a Mayo Clinic.
