DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following six bills into law on Thursday:
House File 2199: an Act relating to the criminal offenses of the illegal use of a scanning device or encoding machine and criminal mischief in the third degree, and providing penalties. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 20, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 1, 49-0.
House File 2237: an Act relating to matters involving insurance and the Insurance Division of the Department of Commerce to reflect current practices and resolve inconsistencies. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 21, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on March 1, 49-0.
House File 2286: an Act prohibiting cities and counties from imposing time-of-sale requirements on transactions involving real property. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 20, 77-21 and the Iowa Senate on March 5, 41-8.
Senate File 2059: an Act authorizing the use of electronic means for certain notices and information provided by local assessors and including applicability provisions. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 19, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 5, 97-0.
Senate File 2135: an Act relating to the failure to wear a motor vehicle safety belt or safety harness. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 20, 48-0 and the Iowa House on March 5, 58-38.
Senate File 2262: an Act relating to final-stage motor vehicle manufacturers. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 21, 49-0 and the Iowa House on March 1, 96-0.
I thought the seat belt law was already passed????????
