MASON CITY – A small group of citizens attended a public forum Thursday evening offered by city officials in Mason City on the proposed Renaissance project planned for the downtown area.
Less than 50 citizens were in attendance at the event, held on the Mason City High School campus; some of those were elected officials (Council members Paul Adams, Joshua Masson, Bill Schickel), city employees and media reporters. Conspicuously absent were Mayor Eric Bookmeyer and council members Travis Hickey, John Lee and Janet Solberg.
Kansas-bound city administrator Brent Trout offered a bullet-list power point presentation, highlighting the main points of the $38 million project, which consists of a multi-purpose arena seating 4400; and pavilion on the north end of the mall; a museum; a skywalk; a conference center; and a 106-room Hyatt hotel.
Mr. Trout then took questions from the audience.

The Pope blesses this event – but then again who gives a shit what that NWO worshiper has to say.
Less than 50 people showed up. That is because everyone has already decided to vote no.

I’ve heard alot of people voting YES, And mine will be a YES also
I can believe how stupid Bill Schickel is. The comments he made at this meeting does not represent the best interests of Mason City. I hate to say it but he is getting old and slipping.
Money is the necessary evil of capitalism for it brings value to the community. With money comes a heck of a lot of stress. Your better off without too much money on hand. Money solves problems and that is about it. Who wants to go shopping. lol
Must be nice to have money – or HAD money !
