
FORT DODGE – One young man is in custody on murder charges this morning in Fort Dodge after another man was found dead, laying in the road, due to gun shots.
On Saturday, May 13, 2023, at approximately 2:48 A.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call that someone had been shot at the intersection of 10th Ave. S.W. and 10th St. S.W. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department and a Deputy with the Webster County Sheriffs Office responded to the scene.
Officers arrived in the area of 10th Ave. S.W. 10th St. S.W. in Fort Dodge and located an unresponsive male laying in the roadway. Officers immediately began giving medical care to the victim. While doing so, they radioed a description of a vehicle seen leaving the area to other responding officers. One of the responding officers quickly spotted a vehicle matching the description given by the officers, a few blocks from the crime scene. The officer conducted a high‐risk traffic stop on the vehicle. As a result of that traffic stop two subjects were detained. Medics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department arrived on scene and began providing medical treatment to the unresponsive male. Medics transported the unresponsive male to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center where he was ultimately pronounced deceased. The male victim has been identified as 18‐year‐old Adrian D. Grover of Fort Dodge.
Patrol officers and investigators with the Fort Dodge Police Department began interviewing witnesses and processing the scene. As a result of the investigation thus far, 18‐ year‐old Quanterious L. Altman of Fort Dodge, has been arrested on the following charges;
•Murder in the First Degree (A Felony)
•Harassment in the First Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
As with all cases, Mr. Altman is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to look into this incident. We encourage anyone who may have information to contact the police department, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers. The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, the Webster County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
Just days ago, 18‐year‐old Patrick Walker of Fort Dodge was found dead on a sidewalk and murder charges on suspects have been filed.
