Cops corner wanted domestic abuser, who then lies to them

Cops lead Wicklund to a waiting squad car for a trip to jail on Thursday, April 6.

MASON CITY – A wanted domestic abuser was caught as he lied to police.

Mason City police converged on a rental property at 1419 North Federal Avenue on the evening of Thursday, April 6. At the scene, they encountered a subject who allegedly gave a false identification to them. After further investigation, the suspect was confirmed as 29-year-old Joshua Lee Wicklund, who lives at that address. Wicklund had been wanted since February 7, 2017 for allegedly violating his probation in connection to a domestic abuse case in which he pled guilty.

Wicklund was rounded up on the warrant and new charges of providing false identification and interference with official acts. He was taken to the county jail and held for $1,000.00 cash only bond.

Time to go to jail.
