NIACC volleyball team sweeps Wartburg JV, 3-0

MASON CITY – The NIACC volleyball team swept the Wartburg College Junior Varsity 3-0 on Thursday night in the NIACC gym.

NIACC (14-7 overall) won 25-12, 25-14, 25-18.

“We are very proud of the work the team has been putting in the fix the little things,” NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. “They started the match ready to play and ready to work together.”

Sophomore Kaylee Whittington led the Lady Trojans with eight kills and nine digs. The Lady Trojans also received seven kills from sophomore Aubury Coleman and five kills from freshman Brooke Greenwood.
Sophomore Jackie Bleifus led the way with 19 assists. She also added four kills and two blocks.
The Lady Trojans also received four kills, three ace serves and three blocks from freshman Keely Heller, six ace serves and five digs from freshman Lauren Ries and 21 digs from sophomore Liv Block.
The Lady Trojans also topped the Wartburg JV, 3-2, on Sept. 1 in Waverly.

NIACC returns to action Friday at Inver Hills, Minn. in a triangular. The Lady Trojans play DCTC at 5 p.m. and face Mesabi Range CTC at 7 p.m.
