NORTHWOOD – A Northwood, Iowa man says he is not guilty of sexual abuse of a child and a December trial is set.
Gerad Lee Kuhlmann, age 30, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a child. The alleged victim(s) is under 12 years of age.
He was arrested in May after in investigation in Worth county that also involved the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and other local law enforcement agencies. The alleged crimes took place in March and April of this year. Online court records indicate there could be more than one victim. The investigation began in April.
Kuhlmann has been appointed a public defender as he remains held in the Worth county jail. After a number of continuances in this case, a jury trial has been set for December 7, with a pre-trial conference (possible plea deal) set for November 21. He could face 25 years in prison on each count if guilty.
