MASON CITY – A North Iowa couple was jailed this week for allegedly attempting to steal from Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart loss prevention called Mason City police on January 29 at about 5:07 PM to report a pair of shoplifters. Police arrived and took two persons into custody: 44-year-old Annette Sue Hagen of Charles City and 37-year-old Joseph Matthew Lawless of New Hampton. Both were charged with theft in the fifth degree.
Each later posted bond and was released pending court dates.
