MASON CITY – Two people were hurt in an auto accident just north of Mason City on Saturday evening.
The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says that on December 10, 2022, at about 4:35 PM, they responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 65 and county road B-20. A 2016 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Darla Olson, age 54 of Osage, was stopped at the intersection and proceeded eastbound through the intersection. Olson, however, failed to see a 2018 Honda Civic driven by Donna Gilbertson, age 73 of Manly, that was southbound. The Honda Civic struck the Chevy Traverse broadside and both vehicles ended up in the ditch. The driver of the Chevy Traverse (Olson) had minor injuries. The driver of the Honda (Gilbertson) was transported to Mercy One with non-life threating injuries. Seat belts were both worn and air bags were deployed in both vehicles.
