MASON CITY – A Waterloo woman who avoided sentencing in a drunk driving case in Cerro Gordo county was sentenced to 5 years in prison Monday.
Bianca Lynn Tebbs, age 32, was sentenced to 5 years in prison in a guilty plea to third offense drunk driving, records show. She was also fined $3,125. She is now awaiting transport to Mitchelville prison for women.
Tebbs had been stopped and arrested by the Iowa State Patrol back in February as she traveled though Cerro Gordo county. She was charged with operating while intoxicated and malicious prosecution. Tebbs plead guilty but failed to appear in court in October for sentencing and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was finally arrested late last month in Black Hawk county and transported to Cerro Gordo to be sentenced.
Tebbs is currently facing a second charge of third offense drunk driving in Black Hawk county. She was stopped and arrested by Waterloo police back in April of this year. She appears to be scheduled for a December 15 hearing to be sentenced in that case.
Records show Tebbs pleaded guilty in 2011 to third offense drunk driving in Black Hawk county. She still owes nearly $4,000 in fines and fees in that case and her parole has been revoked.
How many 3rd offenses does she get?
