MASON CITY – A man charged a number of times with violent crimes is back in jail Monday, this time facing a charge of felony domestic assault.

Mason City police responded to a physical domestic incident at 204 North Madison Avenue at midnight on May 26th. Jermaine Torito Riley, age 33, was charged with felony domestic assault. He was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, booked and held on no bond until he sees a judge.

Riley is no stranger to accusations of violence and navigating the judicial system.

On April 22nd, Riley was found guilty of contempt of court connected to a child endangerment and domestic assault case in Black Hawk county. He was also found guilty on April 4th (for the second time) for violating probation connected to a domestic assault case here in Cerro Gordo county. In addition, legal action was initiated on May 20th against Riley for failing to pay $127.05 in court costs connected to another domestic assault case that was dismissed.

  1. LVS, What are you doing to change it other than writing these posts? Seems like everyone complains but that is about it.

    1. I hear ya… I wish there was an answer. As long as this is a free country, people can live anywhere they want. It’s too bad that we have become the draw for all the violent thugs from Chicago, Detroit, Waterloo, Des Moines..etc. They come here for the good Social Services and vulnerable women who believe their bullshit about NOT being drug dealers. Then they have children with them and then they beat the shit of them and the cycle continues.. then the revolving of the Jail…and never ends.
