PLYMOUTH – A woman who police say threw an aerosol can at a man’s head was in jail this week, charged with domestic assault.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, four deputies responded to a disturbance at 806 Main Street in Plymouth on November 5th just before midnight regarding an ongoing harassment issue.
After an investigation, Tina Bellinghausen, age 42, was arrested for Serious Domestic Assault after police determined that she had thrown an aerosol can at a 56 year old male victim, causing injury to his face.
Bellinghausen was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and held there before being released a short time later.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

If the arresting officers deemed it to be a “serious” rather than a “simple” domestic assault it is nothing to laugh at, and I’ll invite anybody that thinks it’s funny to stand against the wall while I heave household items at your head.
And yes, the whole pathetic system is biased against male victims of domestic violence. In fact, the Iowa Victim’s Rights of Domestic Violence folder is pink with flowers on it- WTF?
the only difference between serious and simple is that with serious, it caused injury
Don’t worry, county attorney ALWAYS drops domestics when a male is the victim.
I’ve always had a very strict policy but have never had to exercise it yet. It is this: If a woman ever calls the police on me for any reason, that’s it. It’s over for good. No second chance…and I won’t look back.
If this happens just once, it’ll happen again.
What’s NOT being said in this article is the fact that SHE called the cops not the male… Fawn was also extremely drunk, had LOADED gun, and a child was in the house at the time!!! I heard it all over the scanner… What pisses me off is the fact when men are the victims they are chastized beyond belief if the abuser is the woman and arrested for it.. Domestic violence is domestic violence regardless of role reversal!! Fawn ended up in jail due to her own actions- and it’s probably a good thing she did!! being intoxicated with access to a loaded gun could’ve ended with that ‘pussy’ being a dead man…
Well, thank GOD she was only drunk, mad and had a loaded gun with a child in the home and not some marijuana laying around or she’d really be in trouble.
People need to get the facts straight never any where In the report did it say she was intoxicated. The fact of the matter is they did not live together the male was in her house, if he was feeling threatened or being abuse why wouldn’t he just leave. Knowing the alleged offender is 5’3″ & the alleged victim is over 6′ tall weighs. Over 250pounds I highly doubt she was holding him hostage . Sounds more like she was feeling threatened & he was refusing to leave her home therefore she called 911 to have him removed. Think about it !!!
That’s what I said. He is a sissy.
We really don’t get much of the needed information need to make logical decisions from the article. One might guess that he was a neighbor and they have an on going disbute; he came over again to complain/bitch and she gave him the can. However the police investigating this incident did arrest her, lending me to guess that she waited until he was no longer a threat.
My concern here is how many posters believe that domestic abuse laws are not gender neutral. And that somehow “manhood” can be determined by handling a situation through lawful means.
@ anonymous- your post shows your ignorance in this matter. You somehow think that a 5’3″ person cannot inflict pain or a 6′ tall one can’t feel it. What would you say if a short guy walked up and punched a tall chick in the face? How is that different? Do you think males are programmed not to feel pain? wtf indeed.
And yes, Joao, domestic abuse laws may appear gender neutral on the surface but they are anything but in the real world. Arriving officers almost always take the male outside- even though they may be the RP. The presumption is that they are the person that is going to get taken away. My ex caught me off-guard and pushed me down a basement staircase and broke my leg, in that case there was no doubt who to arrest. But I feel sorry for anybody else because the odds are against the man overwhelmingly.
When judges and law enforcement finally open their eyes, along with the general public, that domestic abusers come in all shapes, sizes and yes genders, then there will be hope. And until one of these clueless posters deals with an abuser that doesn’t fit the “male batterer” stereotype this ignorance will continue.
@The North-I agree with your comments. I know a young fellow that was set up by his wife (soon to be ex). She attacked him, clawed his face and slammed on the brakes and called the police. They arrested him for D.A. and he had pictures and everything. She lied to the police and with no proof whatsoever, the guy was charged and found guilty. Then she trashed their house, took everything she wanted and destroyed the rest and ripped off the cupboards and doors and busted holes in the walls. Again, he had pictures and witnesses and when it went to court he was the one who had to pay for the damage. The courts are all one way in favor of the female. This guys life is ruined and she now has a boyfriend and child support to live on.
the article may not have stated she was drunk but she was drunk as f*ck!! I heard it all unfold over the scanner… and she and I have mutual friends who corroborated infact she was intoxicated!! So may I suggest you get your facts straight!!
do u think the minnesota twins could use her for a pitcher?
@USMC-Sign her up. the Twinkies can use all the help they can get.
what a pussy. be a man and walk away.
Big deal, she threw a can at him and she’s in jail. A man can beat the crap out of a woman, stalk her and be out on the streets. Double standard. He’s a pathetic excuse of a man if he’s crying over a can being thrown at him. whawhawah
Former pawn shop owner.
I think it’s only fair, he could of knocked her out, then what. Oh well, I guess he’d still be a wimp, as it doesn’t take much of a man to beat up a woman. Somebody did the right thing…lesson learned, maybe..
Oh my, oh my. She threw a can at him and he had to go cry to the police. What a wimp.
Is that a challenge?
wha, wha, wha, you did the crime now do the time!
