MASON CITY – Governor Terry Branstad and other legislators were in Mason City Thursday as a bi-partisan health care bill was signed into law on the Mercy Hospital main campus.
Republican House Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer and Democratic Sen. Amanda Ragan helped broker the final version of the bill and Branstad came to North Iowa to honor their work.
Branstad said this bi-partisan effort will be good for Iowans and promote wellness and preventative health measures.
Iowa will accept federal dollars offered to states that expand Medicaid under the “Obamacare” plan, helping poor Iowans gain coverage.

Probably 30,000 plus of these people are illegal aliens and already get free health care – this time next year the private (working) sector is going to be crying the blues after paying for this bill(FED).
