MASON CITY – A jury today in Mason City found Aaron Harris, 36, guilty of murder in the first degree for the death of Sarah Winters of Mason City.
Mason City police responded to 410 North Washington Avenue at 12:40 AM on July 10th, 2012, concerning a report of suspicious activity. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of Sarah Dawn Winters, 40, who worked at the Country Club. Winters was unresponsive and paramedics were called to the scene to administer treatment. Winters was transported to Mercy Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead by strangulation.
Investigation into the incident lead to the arrest of Aaron John Harris.
Harris will spend the rest of his life in prison for the offense.
