Mason City’s own Brandon Ward, saying hello from his public Facebook page.

MASON CITY – A North End man who has found himself in a jail cell numerous times over recent months and years was arrested for the second time this month, this time for making a false report to Mason City police.

According to officer Mike McKelvey, on April 18th at about 12:22 AM, dispatch “received a 911 call from either Ward’s residence land line or a phone number registered to Mr. Ward. The caller hung up without speaking which prompted the dispatcher to send officers to investigate. The dispatcher tried to call the residence. Someone answered but then hung up. Before the officers arrived, a second 911 call was received by dispatch from the same number. During the second call, the male caller provided an opinion of what he thought law enforcement should do and used some profanity to make his point clear.”

Officers arrived at Ward’s residence at the 500 block on North Penn Ave. and after conducting a brief investigation determined there was no emergency, leading to the arrest of Ward.

Ward’s rap sheet includes theft, assault causing bodily injury, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, trespassing, interference with official acts and more.  He was tasered by Clear Lake police in September of 2012 when he refused to follow their orders.  Earlier this year, Ward spent two days in jail for harassment.  Ward is facing a May 8th, 2013 hearing for third offense possession of marijuana.  He was arrested and charged by Mason City police for that offense on April 1st.

  1. Where he lives is what I call the center section of town. Not the North End. It is a whole different neighborhood.
