Iowa DOT Gearing Up as Winter Storm Set to Hit Iowa Later Today

iowadotlogoAMES, Iowa – Jan. 21, 2013; 8:30 a.m. update – The Iowa Department of Transportation is gearing up for the winter storm that is on its way to Iowa today. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for the majority of the state beginning noon in southern Iowa, 3 p.m. in central, southeast and eastern Iowa, and 6 p.m. in northern and northeast Iowa, all continuing into Friday. Northwest Iowa will be relatively unaffected by this bout of winter weather.

Iowa DOT road crews will be working around-the-clock, as necessary.
