BANCROFT – A North Iowa man is dead after a two car accident Tuesday morning west of Bancroft.
Philip Bernard of Bancroft was southbound on County Road P30 in his 2013 Ford Fusion when he encountered a 2013 Ford F150 pickup driven by John Williamson, 48, of Spencer.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Bernard failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road P30 and 370th Street and proceeded into the intersection and struck Williamson’s pickup truck.
Bernard , 80, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department and Bancroft Fire Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
