MASON CITY – The calendar says April, and Spring is officially here, but Mother Nature didn’t get the memo.
Snow has returned, as a wintry mix greeted North Iowa residents Friday morning. Moderate to heavy amounts of wet snow are likely and will end sometime later Friday. A winter weather advisory will remain in affect until 1 PM for towns from Algona to Rolfe, Humboldt, Garner, Mason City, Northwood, and areas in between.
Only light precipitation is expected, but driving could be somewhat hazardous due to blowing snow from gusting winds up to 35 miles per hour. Minor damage to tree branches and some power outages could be in store as well.
Temperatures will only reach 40 degrees or less in the North Iowa area Friday, but may reach the mid-50’s by Saturday.
