MASON CITY – Lake Mills’ senior Hallie Erdahl has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball next fall at NIACC.

Erdahl, a libero, was a two-year starter for the Bulldogs, who were a combined 88-2 over the past two seasons and qualified for the state tournament each year.

“It’s been very fun to watch Hallie the past couple of years,” NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. “She is a true libero who continues to work on her defensive specialist skills and I know she will make a huge impact for NIACC volleyball.”

Erdahl was a first-team all-North Iowa Conference selection as a senior. She also was selected to the Iowa Select Team for the Tri-State Challenge that was played at NIACC this past fall.

She was an Iowa Girls Coaches Association all-district team selection and an honorable mention all-state selection.

Erdahl led the team in digs (3.64 per set) and also led the team in serving (99.1 percent).

“We have not always played with a libero,” Lake Mills coach Jim Boehmer said, “but the last two years this position fit Hallie very well. She was aggressive and loved to play defense.

“We needed to do what we could to get her on the floor as much as possible. We are excited to see Hallie take her game to the next level. She plays with the kind of energy and emotion all coaches like to see on the floor.”

Erdahl said she’s excited to keep playing volleyball at the collegiate level.

“My coaches not only taught me how to love the game, but also how to appreciate the game,” she said.
