Mason City man flees authorities for third time; caught on North Federal

MASON CITY – On 7-24-12 at 1544 hours the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department along with Mason City Police Department attempted to apprehend Norris Odell Hughes Jr., age 26, of Mason City, on outstanding warrants for Serious Domestic Assault with no bond in the area of 2nd and North Federal Ave.

Hughes lead officers on a brief chase on his bicycle and continued on foot. Hughes was apprehended 3rd and N. Adams Ave.

Hughes was charged with Interference with Official Acts and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Hughes was treated and released at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa for a leg injury prior to being booked in jail.

Members of the Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department have had foot pursuits with Hughes 3 times in the past year while trying to apprehend him on other warrants.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

  1. This guy is, was, and will ALWAYS be a loser! Just cut his Achilles tendons, break his knees, and give him a vasectomy so he can’t reproduce anymore! Next time he runs, shoot on site!

  2. The Catch and Release program seems to be working well around here. I guess that the (in)justice system in Cerro Gordo doesn’t think the MCPD has enough to do without having to chase and pickup the same stupid assholes every month.
