MASON CITY – The Mason City School District reported today that the Board of Education will meet in special session at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the Board Room of the Administration Building.
Superintendent Anita Micich will recommend Gary Hoffman, former Board Member, to fill the current school board vacancy. Hoffman is a dentist and has four children. He attended the University of Iowa.
According to a school district official, the Board will appoint Hoffman to fill the position formerly held by Mark Young, who resigned in May. Hoffman would fill out the rest of his term and then have the option for re-election on September 10th.
The other Board Members that are up for election on September 10th are Tim Becker, Bob Thoms, and Michele Appelgate.
Before anyone makes a decision in this city, please ask here first to see what we think. We have all the answers. NOT!!!!!!
She thinks she owns us and can do whatever she wants.
Are you kidding me? Let me tell you something Ms. Micich, superintendents and other administrative positions do NOT recommend or promote elected board/council candidates whether it is interim or for ballot. It is unethical! Who the hell do you think you are? Please MC & CL get rid of this woman!!!!! She thinks the board works for her. She is a disease. Wake up school boards!!!!!
